AMRITSAR: After refusal to operate echocardiography ultrasound machines at Ashoka Memorial Hospital and Heart Care Center to Dr. Harbans Rani by the District Advisory Committee for PC PNDT Act , another retired MD doctor has applied for the registration to operate these machines.
District Family planning department had conducted raids on these two centers on September 5 and had sealed two echocardiography ultrasound machines . The registration of these machines were on the name of Dr. Harbans Rani , relative of Head, Cardiology, Government Medical College Dr. Adarsh Kumar, informed District Family Planning officer Dr RS Bhuttar.
He said Harbans Rani was only MBBS and was not qualified to operate these machines. He informed that a MD doctor has now applied for the registration to operate these machines.
"The committee is considering on the application but will keep a close watch as to who will operate these machines, " he said.
Dr Harbans Rani possessed a three month training certificate issued by Dr. Adarsh Kumar but Principal, Government Medical College Dr. SS Shergill informed that no such course was being run by the College.
Meanwhile, former senior resident, cardiology, Government Medical College, Dr. Sukhdev Singh has sent a complaint to chairman, Medical Council of India against Dr Adarsh Kumar for doing private practice. When contacted over phone Dr Adarsh Kumar refused to talk over the issue.
