MUMBAI: Air India's fights AI 101/102 from Delhi to New York and back and AI-191/192 from Mumbai to Newark and back for October 30 have been delayed inordinately due closure of airports in New York and Newark due to current weather conditions on the east coast of the United States.

"This part of the continent has been hit by the Sandy hurricane causing disruption of all flight operations,'' said a release issued by the airline on Monday.

The Delhi-New York (AI-101) and Mumbai-Newark (AI-191) flights for October 30 has now been rescheduled to leave at 1300 hrs instead of 0120 hrs and 0135 hrs respectively, it said.

"However the flights are expected to be operated only after receiving clearance for flight operation from the US government and availability of airport services,'' the airline said.

The airline said that passengers are required to be in touch with the airlines' call centre for information on their flights to the US.
