AHMEDABAD: Gujarat seems to have finally caught the fancy of passionate travellers from across the globe. Rann Utsav, the famous desert carnival in the Kutch district, has been fully booked in advance.
With bookings for Rann Utsav 2012 nearly closed, tourist rush has begun for booking of next year's edition of this annual Kutch carnival. Vipul Mittra, secretary- Tourism, Gujarat, said, "Being one of the most ecologically and ethnically diverse district of the state, Kutch is a celebratory land of art, crafts, music, dance, people and nature. In such destination, celebrations taking place during the full moon night of the winters amid the awe-inspiring and contrasting landscape make the extravaganza an unforgettable experience."
Gujarat Tourism has been offering various packages for this year's edition of the festival. The tourism department said that bookings have started pouring in for the next season of the extravaganza from this year itself.
The festivities have been scheduled to begin from December 15, 2012. "The festival comes with added attractions of hot air balloon, cultural programmes, a large number of food courts offering mouthwatering dishes, kids zone, children play area and camel safari," said Mittra.
