Ramdev to field candidates in next Lok Sabha elections

ROHTAK: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev is all set to foray politics by fielding candidates under the banner of his political outfit — Bharat Swabhimaan Party — in the next Lok Sabha polls. While addressing 5th foundation day function of the Gaushala in Murlana village of Sonipat, he stated that the names of the candidates would be announced at an appropriate time before the elections.

He urged his supporters to gear up for the campaigning and exhorted the people to vote for good candidates. "There should be at least 300 MPs in Parliament who have impeccable credentials and qualities like honest and patriots. It's the need of the hour that the elected representatives work for the service of the people, society and the nation", he stated.

Giving slogans of "swadeshi lao, videshi bhagao" and "gau bachao, desh bachao" (save cows, save nation)", Ramdev said around 10 lakh people has been infected with cancer due to use of imported fertilizers and pesticides and another crores are being spent to import the medicines.

Later, interacting with the media persons, Yoga guru stated that the silence of Congress on the payment of the commission in the purchase of helicopters from Italy is indicative of dubious dealing. "Though the CBI has registered a case, but this investigating agency seems to be working like a puppet of the government in power at Centre. The CBI should disclose the names of those suspected to be involved in receiving the commission amount".
