DHANIAKHALI (WB): West Bengal government will set up 45 women courts to deal with crimes against women, chief minister Mamata Banerjee today said. Besides, the state is setting up 65 all-woman police stations across the state to tackle crimes against woman, she told a rally here.

She said, 19 human rights courts and 151 fast track courts have also been set up. "But the Centre had stopped providing financial assistance for these fast track courts."

"I am not referring to crimes against women that took place during the previous Left Front rule. But, I can say that West Bengal is the pioneer in the country after the Trinamool Congress came to power in promptly taking action against crimes against women", she added.
