AMRITSAR: Sangeeta Jaitely, wife of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, visited historic Khalsa College and was overwhelmed by the grandeur architectural style of the building.
She, with her eight female companions was on her private visit to the 'holy city' when she landed at the college and walked through its corridors, appreciating rich Sikh and Punjab's composite culture. She was honoured at the college campus by Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina.
"It is great to be here at this historical institution that stands tall to the rich Punjabi culture and history. I had long cherished wish to visit the College,'' she stated. Later she went to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple and visited the Attari border flying back to Delhi.
She was also honoured at the Indian Academy of Fine Art (IAFA). Jaitley appreciated the art work going on at the gallery and said she would love to visit again to the city to taste its food and do some shopping. I have heard about the bazaars and markets of Amritsar and would like to visit again for the taste of its food'', she said. BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh was present during the visit.
