Bharati was speaking at her own felicitation programme organised by the Madhya Pradesh state BJP. Reacting strongly to Rahul Gandhi's address to industry leaders at the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) function in New Delhi last Thursday, Bharati said: "This country is not a beehive, it is a place where 33 crore gods and goddesses live in the hearts of the people and even animals and birds are bestowed the position of the deities."
Rahul Gandhi while speaking at the CII meet had argued that the Chinese economy is usually described as a dragon while the Indian economy is likened to an elephant. He disagreed and said India was more like a beehive.
Popularly known as the fiery sanyasin, Bharati shredded through Rahul Gandhi's philosophy and said: "The Pakistan army beheaded two of our soldiers and given an opportunity, the Indian army would behead every Pakistani soldier. But we are country that knows to maintain its dignity. During the Kargil war, Pakistan refused to take back the bodies of the infiltrators and our soldiers performed their last rites according to their religion and convention. We are a country with great courage and patience."
Bharati claimed that the Indian youth has gone to every corner of the world and proved that there is no one who can compete with his intellectual vigour. "The world acknowledges that our young Indians are brilliant and unmatched in academic talent. Sadly, we are a nation that is just not aware of our own strength," she added.
