According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 27 villages are affected in five districts -- Dhemaji, Chirang, Lakhimpur, Jorhat and Sivasagar. The flood waters have destroyed standing crops like rice in around 6,500 hectares of agricultural land across 11 districts in the state.
