Harassed by seniors, UP govt official commits suicide

BADAUN: A village development officer committed suicide here after being allegedly harassed by his seniors, police said on Sunday.

The VDO Pradeep Kumar, who was posted in Samrer block of the district, had consumed poisonous substance on Friday night and he died at a hospital in Bareilly yesterday, they said.

The family members said a suicide note was recovered in which Pradeep had blamed his seniors for his extreme step.

Badaun ASP Maan Singh said that on the complaint of Pradeep's brother, a case has been lodged against the accused officials.
