LUCKNOW: Terming Congress president Sonia Gandhi as 'ailing' and Rahul Gandhi as 'over-burdened' have proved self-destructive for two Congress workers who have been shown the door by the UP State Congress Committee, according to reports.

Allahabad district Congress committee secretary, Haseeb Ahmad and senior Congress leader Shrish Chandra Dubey were suspended by the party.

The two had put up hoardings of Priyanka Gandhi showing her as the party candidate from Phoolpur. Both Ahmad and Dubey showed themselves as supporters of Priyanka Gandhi asking people to vote for her. They, in fact, invited Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Phoolpur.

Congress spokesman Dwijendra Tripathi said that complaints have been lodged against the two. "Sonia is absolutely healthy and is taking care of the party well," Tripathi said.

Priyanka Gandhi has been making headlines in the past few days amid the Modi-factor knocking the doors of UP. She has been, in fact, projected as one of the key campaigners for the Congress across India.
