Speaking to reporters here on Thursday before joining his party members to take part in the KJP-Janaandolan rally in Hubli, Yeddyurappa made it clear that he will strengthen the KJP instead of joining BJP, but also that he was willing to support BJP candidates. He pointed out that the two parties could win more seats in the elections if they joined hands to fight against other parties.
KJP has decided to field its candidates in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state and Yeddyurappa plans to begin touring the constituencies in the near future.
Speaking about the rally, he said: "We have started the protest rally in Hubli today against the government and we will hold the same in Shimogha on October 21. We are planning to gherao Vidhana Soudha in the last week of this month."
He alleged that the newly elected Congress government was not working properly in the state and had failed to fulfil the demands of farmers. "They haven't even bothered to compensate farmers who have lost crops because of the drought," he said.
