CHANDIGARH: In an unusual move, local MP and former Union railway minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal, made a police complaint seeking throughout probe into the sudden increase of 10,900 likes on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
The complaint was made to IG (Chandigarh) RP Upadhyay and it has been referred to cyber cell of local police. Bansal suspect someone trying to give wrong impression while increasing thousands of likes on his Facebook page in just one day.
Bansal's complaint read, "On December 24, likes on the page of Bansal were 51,600 and I find now that there is an abnormal increase to more than 62,500 likes." The complaint further states, "This is in less than just one day and it obviously shows that somebody is doing so without my knowledge and for some ulterior purpose."
MP Pawan Kumar Bansal said, "Usually 10 to 20 likes received on my Facebook page every day but thousands of likes within 24 hours is alarming. I am sure that someone with malicious intention made these likes."
IG (Chandigarh) Upadhyay said DSP Rajesh Kalia was assigned the probe and instructed for completing the investigation as soon as possible. Earlier, unknown persons had hacked Facebook page of Bansal and police probe was failed to trace any one.
Notably, likes on Facebook pages of local politicians witnessed of sudden shoot. The president of local unit of BJP, Sanjay Tandon, had been received over 11,000 likes on his Facebook page on December 18. Similarly, Satya Pal Jain has over 67,000 likes on his social networking site page.
