AMRITSAR: No matter how much BJP's parliamentary candidate from Amritsar constituency Arun Jaitley justifies being a 'local' , but going by the roadside gossips of the people known to have political wisdom of the constituency, Jaitely has the disadvantage of being a 'paratrooper' and an elite politician of zilch street political experience which could cost dear to his electoral prospects as Jatiely wouldn't be able to make any rapport with voters of his constituency in one and half month time and his voters would have no option but to convey their aspirations to him only through present local SAD or BJP leaders- which may also have their vested interests.

"Local veteran BJP leaders who have been working for the constituency all through their life have been blatantly ignored and suddenly they have been asked to vote for Jaitley" said 65 years old Ram Parkash while talking to TOI on Wednesday at Rambagh Gardens where he along with his group often sit over a cup of soup to discuss political and other worldly affairs with his peer group after morning walk. He questioned "What was wrong with Navjot Singh Sidhu, if voted to power, Jaitely is not going to come back here" he apprehended.

Even a local senior BJP leader having been on party's various significant posts censured BJP's central leadership decision of fielding Jaitley from Amritsar. Pleading anonymity he said "If at all they wanted to change Sidhu, they could have picked up a local leader who at least knows his constituency" adding that Jaitley would never win the seat on his own but with the help of SAD support.

Both BJP and SAD senior leaders and poll strategists here boasts that Jaitely would win a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes but have no logic to explain except "we will ensure his thumping victory".

"I was disappointed to read today's news items about Jaitley's visit to Amritsar, it seems he is promoting a middleman culture who would be bridge between him and people of his constituency" said Kuldeep Singh, another morning walker who runs an industry in Amritsar.

Meanwhile District BJP President Naresh Sharma informed that on Tuesday night Jaitley held joint introductory meeting with SAD-BJP leaders and left for Delhi on Wednesday morning . He informed that Jatiely would again visit his constituency from March 21st to 23rd.
