Gujarat is on sale for industrialists: Arvind Kejriwal

JAIPUR: Sharing experience of his Gujarat visit, Arvind Kejriwal claimed that state is deep rooted in corruption where only few industrialists have prospered. In his key note speech at an event on Friday, he asserted that Gujarat is opposite of development where state government has suppressed the rights of common man to benefit Adani and Ambani.

"For the past one year biggest conspiracy in the history of Independent India is being played out. Everyone is saying that Gujarat has good governance with minimum corruption. In my visit to villages and cities there I found these claims are far from truth," said Kejriwal.

"Each person I interacted told me that nothing happens without giving bribe. Basic infrastructure is in shambles. In chief minister, Narendra Modi's own constituency, primary school has become a place of open defecation while health centers are used as a garbage dumping ground," added Kejriwal.

On his detention by the Gujarat police, former Delhi CM said that he is not a terrorist who wanted to harm anyone. "I wanted to meet Modi and had some queries over his model of development. He refused to meet me and instead deployed heavy police force 5 kms far from his residence. I was not carrying bombs or sticks. He could have just called me to say that I am busy and will inform you when I am free," added Kejriwal.

On the issue of security, he pulled Modi government. Kejriwal mentioned that his car was attacked two times. "When a former CM is not safe in Gujarat how a common man can feel safe there," he claimed.
