As part of the campaign, the company is encouraging first time voters to upload their selfies on popular social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The company will give out prizes for the best tweet or pictures posted. Besides, interesting info-graphics, tweets, chat and other online activities are being conducted to promote voting in Gujarat.
Jinesh Hegde, circle business head of Uninor Gujarat, said, "Youth today forms a sizeable voter segment with their own set of aspiration from the government. This is their opportunity to communicate directly with forthcoming government by exercising their franchise. Vote4Win is a social campaign created by Uninor to build pride amongst the young voters in our state by being a part of the choice, and share their voting experience.
According to Election Commission of India, the 2014 general elections will see over 1.79 lakh new voters on an average in each constituency. As per the data from the state election commission, 2.38% of the total electorate in Gujarat are first-time voters. The city of Ahmedabad (94,472) has the maximum first time voters followed by Surat (78,414), Banaskantha (54,788), Vadodara (44,342) and Rajkot (40,095).
