The injured have been admitted to a government hospital in Margao.
Speaking to TOI, director general of police (DGP) T N Mohan said that the nature of blast is yet to be ascertained. He also said that the deceased had arrived on his two-wheeler vehicle at his house and was carrying the explosive in his bag.
Initial reports said that the explosion took place when he was about to enter his house killing him and leaving his family members injured.
A police team has rushed to the spot and further investigation is on.
Police said that deceased was a migrant labourer and they are gathering more information about him.
Bomb disposal squad has also rushed to the spot.
