Sachin Pilot the most stylish politician, finds survey

BANGALORE: With the last leg of the 16th Lok Sabha elections completed, political parties and the nation might be waiting for May 16 to see in which direction the country will move in, but online fashion store Myntra.com has been busy figuring out who is India's most stylish politician.

And the verdict, Myntra claims, has gone in favour of Sachin Pilot, who has been voted the most stylish and exuberant politician by its customers.

"With politics bagging centerstage in conversations in a run up to the outcome of elections, our online survey drew responses from customers and fan base, ranking the dressing sense of influential politicians on the basis of their style and fashion quotient," Myntra said.

Politicians we surveyed include: Manmohan Singh, Narendra Modi, Sonia Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal along with younger politicians such as Rahul Gandhi, Sachin Pilot, Omar Abdullah, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Akhilesh Yadav.

While Narendra Modi tops the survey on multiple parameters including the 'Best Dressing Sense' category Sachin Pilot has been voted as the most stylish and exuberant politician.

"This survey by looks at a different side of politicians — at the changing ways in which the country and its youth view the executive decision makers for their fashion sense! Gone are the days when politicians are expected to be dressed only in one particular kind of clothing, could get away with oddly matched outfits and a wardrobe filled with the same colour in four different shades," it said.
Survey highlights:
* 76% people polled, agree that Narendra Modi looks elegant in Indian kurta-pyjama while Shashi Tharoor (41%) looks the most tasteful in a James Bond styled 3-piece suit
* 31.3% of the respondents believe the stylish Sachin Pilot can give models a run for their money
* While 36.7% respondents feel Narendra Modi looks younger than his age due to his dressing sense, Sonia Gandhi came a close second with 31.6% of votes
* Narendra Modi was again seen leading in the 'Best dressing sense' category with Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia following him in second and third spots, respectively
* Talking about colors, respondents seem to think that 'White' looks most elegant on Manmohan Singh while 'Black' suits Shashi Tharoor the best
