TMC MP Tapas Pal openly threatens opponents with rape, murder

NEW DELHI: An undated video of TMC MP Tapas Pal surfaced on Monday in which the leader is seen making threats of "sending his boys to rape CPM women" if the party harms anyone from his constituency.

The controversial video shows the parliamentarian insisting that if CPM harms anyone, the leader will pull the trigger himself.

"If any mother, sister and uncle in this village are harmed I wont spare them," said Pal, who is a popular Bengali actor and two-term MP from Krishnanagar.

The video shows the TMC MP claiming to be a "big goonda" saying that he will "destroy homes, destroy families, shoot them and get them raped".

Congress has demanded immediate action from the Mamata Banerjee government against Pal for his shocking statements.

"TMC does not endorse the statement made by Tapas Pal, the statement was utterly insensitive," said TMC leader Derek O'Brien.
