JMM workers as per their announced programme of boycotting all union ministers gathered in huge number at the airport and were successful in delaying the movement of ministers motorcade for some time. JMM central spokesperson Vinod Pandey said that JMM will continue with its protest unless the PMO issues an apology for heckling of chief minister Hemant Soren in a programme at Ranchi attended by the Prime Minister on August 21. "We are not going to tolerate insult to our chief minister and the party has decided to go ahead with its programme," he said.
JMM workers also showed black flags to the union minister at Garhkhatanga where the minister laid foundation stone of the institute but the BJP supporters outnumbered protestors and local administration had made proper arrangements to avert any situation of clash.
Singh later attended a meeting with the scientists of Indian council of agriculture research at the Indian Institute of Natural resins and Gums (IINRG) at Namkom and met party workers at the BJP headquarters.
Media in charge, state BJP Sawarmal Agarwal said that the party has left it on the conscience of local administration to ensure that the union ministers' programme in state are organised properly. "Every union minister is a guest for the state government and administration has the challenge to ensure that they are not disturbed during state visit," he said admitting that BJP workers have also been directed to remain present and avoid deliberate disturbance caused to the ministers by JMM or their supporters.
Singh would be laying the foundation of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Mandu, Ramgarh on Tuesday and participate in workers meet at Hazaribag. He would also attend a programme in Ranchi the same day and leave for Delhi on Wednesday.
