Manoj was killed earlier this week when assailants, suspected to be CPM workers, waylaid his car and stabbed him.
The killings had sparked off a Kerala bandh by the BJP-RSS.
Home minister Singh, on his part, called up Chandy to express the Centre's concern over targeting of RSS workers in Kannur, a traditional hotbed of CPM-RSS clashes, and sought tough measures to stop the violence.
On Friday, Chandy wrote back to Singh stating that all accused in the murder of BMS worker Suresh Kumar in Kannur had been arrested and produced before the court. He also assured the home minister that the accused in September 1 murder of social activist Manoj would be brought to book soon.
The chief minister said the state police would restore peace in Kannur at the earliest. He claimed that the present law and order situation in the district was normal.
