Worker killed as boiler explodes in Chennai paint manufacturing factory

CHENNAI: A 32-year-old employee died and ten others were injured in a boiler blast at a paint manufacturing company in Irungattukottai on Monday morning.

Police said the boiler could have exploded due to overheat.

Abishek, 32, of Vivekananda Nagar, was operating the boiler when it exploded. In the impact, he was thrown off. Ten others, who were working with him, sustained injuries.

Fire and rescue service personnel rushed to the spot after being alerted by other workers. They rushed Abishek and others to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead.
