The projects include grade separator at the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway and Thaltej Road Crossing near the Gurudwara built at a cost of Rs 66 crore, renovated MJ Library, primary schools at Ghuma and Vastrapur, besides laying foundation stones for beautification of Talav and over bridge on Sardar Patel (SP) Ring Road.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said it is the responsibility of an elected government to provide development works for the welfare of the people, and particularly the last man in the last mile. It is also the duty of the citizens to help the government in maintaining cleanliness and beauty. She appealed to the people to donate liberally for constructing toilets.
Even as the Ahmedabad city is growing by leaps and bounds to the outskirts, she said that a number of industrial units are being set up to create new jobs and at the same time develop the skill of the workers. She said the government is committed to build a model state as envisioned by the then chief minister Narendra Modi, taking everybody along. She listed various welfare activities undertaken by the government.
