He was speaking to the media persons here on Wednesday. According to Togadia, supreme court in its 1977 order said the Hindu is a way of life. Thus, if anybody converted to other religions years ago and re-accepting Hinduism now is not conversion and that will be welcomes whole heartedly. "Our aim is making India as Hindu country as it was once upon a time", he said.
He said Home Coming has started 700 years ago by the Ramanujacharya at Ayodhya by changing 25,000 Muslims into Hindus. Similarly, Vidyaranya Saraswati, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Swami Shraddhananda also have done it in large scale, he said. Meanwhile he refuted that Ghar Vapsi programme derails the development of country. Meanwhile, he said parliament should bring a law banning conversion.
Responding on suppression of scheduled caste and scheduled tribes in Hindus, Togadia said VHP is taking programme on war footage to bring SC/ST communities into mainstream of Hindus. The programmes like Brahmins taking food in SC/STs kitchen and vice-versa and mass entry into the temples and permission to worship like other Hindus have been planned on the occasion of golden jubilee year of VHP, he said.
He was in Belagavi to attend Virat Hindu Samavesh organized at Gokak on Wednesday. MP Suresh Angadi, Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore, MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi, MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath and 12 seers of different matts were present at the programme.
