JAIPUR: Cold conditions continued to affect normal life in Rajasthan where over 14 passenger trains were running late due to fog even as Mount Abu shivered at a low of 1 degree Celsius.
According to NWR spokesperson, two trains arrived late in Jaipur, while 14 other passengers' train were delayed by 40 minutes to 14 hours.
Howara-to-Sriganganagar train was running late by 14 hrs, while New Jalpaiguddi-Udaipur Express was delayed by 7 hrs and 50 minutes, he said.
Two trains on Bandra-Jaipur route were running late by 3 hrs and 40 mts each, while the Hawara-Jodhpur Express was delayed by 3 hrs and 30 mts, he added.
Some of the buses of Rajasthan roadways were also delayed and arrived late here from Delhi and Agra due to fog, an official said.
Though mercury slightly rose by 0.6 notches in Mount Abu to settle at 1 deg C as compared to yesterday when it was 0.4 degree Celsius, a MeT official said.
On plains, Churu was the coldest place where a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius was recorded.
Jaipur's minimum temperature dipped to 6.4 degrees Celsius, about one degree less than yesterday.
The night temperature plummeted at several places in the state and it stood below 10 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature of Udaipur was recorded at 4.4 degrees Celsius, while Sriganganagar's low settled at 4.7 degrees Celsius.
The mercury dipped to 5 degrees Celsius at Chittorgarh, while Pilani recorded a low of 5.4 degrees Celsius,
Bikaner recorded a low of 5.8 degree Celsius and Ajmer's minimum temperature settled at 7.6 degrees Celsius.
The MeT department has predicted that the the existing cold wave conditions will continue for next few days in the state.
