Ramalinga Raju, Satyam founder, gets 6-month imprionment

NEW DELHI: Ramalinga Raju, founder of scam-tainted Satyam Computers, and his brother have been sentenced to 6 months in jail and fined Rs 5 lakh each by a court on Monday.

The judgment of another case tied to the Satyam scam is scheduled for December 23.

The scam came to light in January, 2009, when its founder Ramalinga Raju confessed to manipulating his company's account books.

At that time, it was billed as the biggest accounting fraud in the country.
