Students set to debate at Model United Nations

Over 150 students from 20 leading schools across the city are set to participate in the CIS Model United Nations Conference, 2015 that will be held on January 16 and 17 at Canadian International School.

The event called CISMUN, 2015 will give the young participants a taste of diplomacy, international relations, public negotiations, and the working of the UN. It aims to build an understanding of global challenges amongst young people that crosses borders of background, culture and nationality.

The various topics which would be debated at CISMUN, 2015 include prohibition of the development, production, and illegal transfer of nuclear technology ,gender equality and women empowerment in the developing world, threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts, addressing the problems due to e-waste disposal and its challenges, conservation of the Antarctic/Arctic environment, improving trade relations between the industrialized countries and the LEDC/MEDC countries, Refugee's crisis/rehabilitation measures in conflict areas, Promoting and upholding the ethnic, religious, cultural rights of minorities around the world, Territorial violations in E Europe, Africa and SE Asia .
