"It was ironical that finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa has asked the employees to either get DA installment or arrear of their pay commission dues," Bajwa said while addressing a party rally at Phillaur organized by former minister Chaudhary Santokh Singh.
PPCC President said that the present economic situation of Punjab was own creation of SAD-BJP government. "The mismanagement of resources, rampant corruption in government, over spending and non-productive expenditure, heavy top brass of police and bureaucracy, ineffective revenue collection and tax evasion are some of the basic reasons for poor economic performance of this government. He said that chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was rather very casual and irresponsible in maintaining financial discipline and he is wasting public funds in Sangat Darshan programmers," he said.
Bajwa said that finance minister had accepted that Punjab's economy was in shambles and state government had no funds to meet the day to day expenses. He said that revenue collection of Punjab government was declining and expenses wewre on the rise. "The state government was in debt trap and still not serious about taking remedial measures. The state government was supposed to pay Rs 2800 crores to the employees before November which is not possible. I doubt government would be able to pay salaries in the next months," he added.
Bajwa asked the chief minister to shut down loss making boards and corporations and remove all chief parliamentary secretaries to over the financial crisis.
He said that deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was delivering fake dreams to people. These days he was on visit to Instabul and issuing statements to implement Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) in all cities. He asked Badal junior to first explain the fate of his Metro dream. He advised the deputy CM to begin with travelling by road and see the plight of people. He said that states like Bihar were performing better than Punjab as far as development is concerned.
