BEMETARA/KAWARDHA/RAIPUR (CHHATTISGARH): Slamming the Congress on its claims on Centre's funds allocation to the states, BJP's prime ministerial aspirant Narendra Modi asked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to explain to the people whether that "money came from his maternal uncle's place".

"Sonia madam aur shehzade Rahul", keep telling the people about Centre's funds being under-utitilized and misused by Chhattisgarh government, claiming that they have been allocating money to the state.

"But I want to ask Rahul, has that money come from his 'maternal uncle's place'? It's not their money, it's public's money. I don't understand what kind of language are they speaking about giving away funds to state, are the people in Chhattisgarh waiting with begging bowls?", he asked.

Taking a dig on Congress, Modi said, "They fear, they would lose power in 2014 and BJP would form the government in Delhi. That's why they want to call off opinion polls".

Accusing Congress chief, Modi said that 'Madam' needs to do some homework before making any statement in Chhattisgarh. "While all Congress leaders have praised and awarded Chhattisgarh for its developments and achievements, madam commented about state being poor, backward and underdeveloped. Everyone knows how Raman Singh has developed the state fighting all odds."

Criticizing the Congress, the BJP leader said that the Congress party in Chhattisgarh promises in their manifesto to provide 24-hour power supply and free rice, "why don't they first implement the schemes in states where they are already in power? There are many states being ruled by Congress, but they haven't implemented these schemes there, why? "

Attacking on the opposition party, the BJP leader claimed that Gujarat and Chhattisgarh are the two states which have provided 24-hour power supply, "Is there one state being lead by Congress which gives this facility? Does Sonia, PM and Rahul's own city gets undisrupted power supply? Then why don't they start the charity from home?"

Raising question on what was the reason that Congress wasn't disclosing the name of its chief ministerial candidate, Modi asked, "They don't hesitate naming Ajit Jogi as CM choice during private conversation. I wonder what forbids them to disclose the name! Is it the fear of losing polls or his sins that prevents them of declaring the name?"

"Congress' jingle says, "Congress lao, Chhattisgarh bachao", does that mean Chhattisgarh isn't the part of country which is being ruled by Congress party? Isn't this state a part of their ruling nation? This means they have not been considering Chhattisgarh as their own," Modi went on saying the Congress men claim that if a family of five members earn Rs 26 per day, it is well-off, "Rs 26 would get you just 300 grams of onion and those who are capable of buying this quantity of onions, are 'well-off' for madam."

Lauding the performance of chief minister Raman Singh, Modi said that BJP has always taken care of poor, youth, women, employment, farmers and prosperity for all, "BJP follows one mantra which includes all these qualities and talks about 'Vikas' (development)."

"Development in the country would get doubled if you choose BJP for the third term in Chhattisgarh and when the party comes to power from Delhi as well, just imagine the scale of development you would get to see," Modi stressed at the large yet silent crowd mesmerized with the NaMo mantra.

Paying tribute to the security jawans who lost their life during the first phase of assembly elections in Bastar division and Rajandgaon district on November 11, Modi appealed the Election Commission of India to felicitate and award the martyr's families on January 25 celebrated as Voters' day. "I also request ECI to also introduce a special segment in their website and add names of such martyrs who sacrificed their life to conduct smooth polling.

Switching to a non-political mode, Narendra Modi praised Sachin Tendulkar who is playing his last cricket Test for his hard work and dedication, and that every India was proud of him. "Every Indian is proud of Sachin. With his hard work, sincerity and matchless efforts, Sachin has achieved new records in the game," Modi said.
