LUCKNOW: Pointing a finger towards media, Samajwadi Party leader and national general secretary, Ram Gopal Yadav is reported to have said that the media has been bribed by Narendra Modi and BJP to showcase him as the national hero.

Annoyed with media, the SP legislator has asked the party workers to stop watching news channel. Instead, he said, the workers may watch daily soaps.

The statement of Ram Gopal, who is the brother of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, has led to speculation that the party does not want to see its workers demoralised with the news reports projecting his party's government in UP in a bad light. Moreover, the recent rallies of Narendra Modi, which saw a huge turn out, have also been a cause of concern for the regional political outfit.

Speculations about that SP government is fearful of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as nowadays, who can be seen on almost every news channel raising his slogans and addressing the nation on social and political issues.

Interestingly, when Samajwadi Party came to power, CM Akhilesh thanked media person for supporting him. But when the media came in harsh on the government crticizing it for mal-administration they have started claiming that media is salable and is partially helping Modi and BJP.
