Speaking at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) here, Satya Paul Arora, secretary general of the South Asian Fraternity, said the two governments should relax visa regime specifically for journalists, traders, lawyers, students and academicians for a better communication and business relationships.
The problems were not limited to the governmental level, but in fact serious psychological and mental constructs among the people created serious barriers and constraints for peace, said Kharaiti Lal Bhola, chairman of Patita (destitutes) Sudhar Sabha.
Both governments should spend money on welfare instead of defence, he said.
In his concluding remarks, Shafqat Kakakhel, chairman board of governors, SDPI said Pakistanis across the board want peace with India. If they join hands to foster peace, they can make immense progress, he said.
Besides Arora and Bhola, other members of the Indian delegation were Satya Paul Bhawani Shanker Kusum, chairman of Gram Bharati Samiti and S Ranjit Singh, secretary of Lala Lajpat Rai Birthplace Memorial Committee.
