BANGALORE: A city court has granted interim anticipatory bail to Pramod Muthalik, chief of Sri Rama Sene, in relation to a case registered by Basavanagudi police.

The court has directed the police to release Muthalik in the event of his arrest upon furnishing of Rs 50,000 bail bond.

On April 5, Basavanagudi police had registered a case for the offences punishable under sections 153(A), 120 B IPC and also under Section 125 of Representation of People Act 1950, 1951, 1989 against Muthalik based on a complaint filed by one Ajmal Khan.

The complaint against Muthalik was that he had accepted his involvement in demolition of babri masjid and creating further rift between the people of India by threatening to demolish another two masjids.

Muthalik, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Dharwad and Bangalore North constituencies, has claimed that the complaint against him is a frivolous one and the same was filed on account of political rivalry.
