Vishwanath dubs the budget as "bania budget"

MYSORE: Congress leader and former MP of Mysore-Kodagu A H Vishwanath on Saturday termed the union budget as the "budget of Banias"( Business class) and said the finance minister seems to have forgotten the welfare state and socialistic pattern of the Indian society as enshrined in the constitution.

Reacting to the budget proposals, Vishwanath said the budget is anti-Karnataka and it has nothing special for the people of Karnataka who overwhelmingly voted for BJP in the lok sabha elections." Only hindi heart land states have got the bounty and it is an anti-south India budget" he described and said there is no mention about the JNNURM project which is being implemented in Mysore.

He said UPA government gave utmost importance to various projects in the state , where as the Modi government is not even bothered to allot a IIT or AIIMS or a medical college to Karnataka. " There is a long pending demand for AIIMS , but this government has belied the hopes of Karnataka people" he said and added: chiding the present MP Pratap Simha for his claim of getting sanctioned the railway line from Mysore to Kushalnagar. "Neither Sadananda Gowda's wife Datty dreamt of a rail line as claimed by her or Pratap Simha proposed this project, actually it was Kharge who gave clearance for this project," he added.
