Modi while dedicating power grid station and oil terminal to the nation besides laying foundation stone for several other projects reminded the people that he returned to Jharkhand within eight months of making promises from the same ground ahead of Lok Sabha elections. He said that Jharkhand could be the most developed state of the nation. "We are not going to tolerate this present state of affairs of Jharkhand and we together will change it," he said.
Without blaming it on any particular government Modi said that the NTPC power project, foundation stone of which was laid by Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1999 was ultimately revived by him after a gap of 15 years. "It seems that I have been blessed to complete pending projects of Vajpayee who was also instrumental in carving Jharkhand separate state," he said.
State unit of BJP was enthused over the PMs address and said that a message has been sent to the public in general and party workers in particular that only a stable government can change fate of the state. State spokesperson Pradeep Sinha said that people respect Modi and listen to him carefully. "When he spoke about benefits of stability he meant an appeal to the masses and direction to the party cadres," he said.
Arjun Munda was the only state leader sharing dais with the PM. BJP claimed that he was on stage in the capacity of leader of opposition in state, though party insiders believed that his presence and waving to crowd along with the PM gave necessary indications to public in general.
