The committee will look into the complaints lodged by all the MPs with regard to the violation of protocol in their constituencies as well as other areas before submitting a report to the speaker.
The committee is empowered to recommend suitable action against the officials if found guilty particularly with regard to the misbehaving with the MPs. The Speaker of Loksabha could take action based on the report either by directly or take the views of the House before proceeding against the errant officials.
Sources said that the committee on violation of protocol and contemptuous behavior of government officials is considered to be a vital committee of all the House panels formed by the speaker as it could enquire into the charges against all the officials. Kadiyam Srihari (TRS) and Bandaru Dattatreya (BJP) from telangana were members of the committee.
