Tharoor terms media reports baseless

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shashi Tharoor has termed the media reports that are coming out about the ongoing investigation into the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar are totally baseless.

"The reports that are coming the media are not true and totally baseless. All are fictitious reports made by the media," said Tharoor while reacting to media reports that New Delhi police has warned him.

There were reports that the New Delhi police had warned Shashi Tharoor for not giving appropriate answers to the several questions asked by the special investigation team.

"If there is such an issue, they would have informed me first rather than going to media. All such reports are totally baseless as I am fully cooperating with the investigation," said Tharoor.

Shashi Tharoor had reached Thiruvananthapuram on Friday for a five day programme in his home constituency. He had come with the special permission received from the SIT for travelling outside New Delhi. The police had informed that he should not go outside Delhi without permission.

He was questioned in two rounds on Thursday and finally left the Vasant Vihar office of the SIT at midnight. He again reached the SIT office on Friday afternoon and was questioned for half an hour. He was earlier questioned on January 19.
