Farmers should be provided fertilisers on time, said Chouhan. Chief minister Chouhan was addressing collectors and commissioners through video-conferencing on Friday. Chief secretary Anthony de Sa was also present, on the occasion.
Chouhan said the state is getting urea rakes in adequate quantity. Farmers should be informed that there is no shortage of fertilisers in the state, he added. They can purchase fertilisers as per their requirement whenever they need it.
Chouhan directed that collectors are responsible for smooth distribution of fertilisers. It should be ensured that there is no irregularity in distribution.
Rakes of fertilisers should be unloaded within minimum time-limit. Cooperative banks should be regularly monitored for fertiliser distribution. Fertilisers should be provided first to those areas where sowing operations have been made earlier. It should also be ensured that farmers get fair price for their produce in mandis and are not exploited.
Collectors should ensure that the state government will repay loan against farmers whose crops had suffered over 50 percent damage due to frost-hailstorm last year.
